Life According To Instagram

Here's what's going on in my neck of the woods...

Lots of sewing and binding and then more sewing and more binding. I think I sew just to bind. Oh how I love binding. I could become a professional binder if there were such a thing. Did I just start a new business? I think I've had too much coffee...

- Pretty flowers :)

- My sister's friend's baby with the quilt I made. You may recognise it as Vertigo from Modern Baby! And also, HOW CUTE IS SHE?! Want to bite!

- Binding... so much stripey binding... Yum :) The hubs looked in the cookie jar thinking I'd baked him cookies... he was dismayed to find binding. Hah.

- Iced coffee. Which has been necessary this past week. First it was freezing cold, then it got boiling hot. New England weather. Yay.

FOOD. My favourite.
- My go-to salad of chicken sausage on sweet butter lettuce, zucchini and avocados.

- We tried a sandwich place that had good reviews. Food was fantastic, service... not so much.

- Bowl of cherries. Yes, please.

- And just for fun, we had German pancakes for lunch over the weekend. (I always wondered if mine is more deflated because I use fat free milk. Anyone?)

And as always, there's cats. Izzy found a new box and made it her new BFF. Matilda is auditioning for the Broadway version of The Princess and the Pea. And also staring into space.

Boo The Dog

When I see Pomeranians shorn to look like teddy bears, I squeal. Ask the hubs. I'm incapable of speech for about a minute or so because my whole body is convulsing in sheer joy. And when I find out that there's an entire website dedicated to one such Pomeranian, my head explodes.

This is Boo. The dog that looks like a teddy bear. He's so damn cute I want to bite his face.

Seriously, so damn cute. I can't stop looking at him! Make it stop!

For the second time in my life, I want a dog. The first time was when I fell completely in love with a Japanese Spitz named Jebediah who sat in a store near my old place in Australia. He was the most lovely dog and his fur would stay clean all on its own. Imagine that! The hubs and I started talking to a breeder... then realised we don't want to have to take a dog out for a walk every day or for pees and poos multiple times a day.

I'm going to look at Boo a little bit more then to the sewing room I shall retreat!

Things That Look Like Cameras = Awesome

I get a great big kick out of things that look like or are shaped like cameras. Mugs, thumb drives, notebooks etc. My favourite ones are right here...

This insanely cute pencil sharpener from Urban Outfitters has petting it every time I see it in the store. Seriously. I pet it. I probably won't ever get it because I already have a super fantastic pencil sharpener. Plus, I enjoy petting things in stores.

This camera-shaped bag from Le Sportsac! Adorable, yes? I'd totally carry it except that it's about the size of my pinkie and I have this affliction where I need to carry an enormous bag to haul every single thing I own in the world. Every time I have to carry a clutch to a dinner or whatever, I start to panic about all the things I'm not able to take with me. It's beyond ridiculous.

My Womb Physically Hurts Now

I want to steal this child.

I'm so taking French lessons with the hubs, then we can teach our children and we'll all speak French and only French. Because everything is cuter in French.

Cute Overload

How very, very cute is she? Her face, her outfit, that hat... I'm dying right now.

This child better run before my husband sees her picture. He's going to want to steal her and keep her in his pocket.

Paper Heart Love

Last week the hubs and I finally got round to watching Paper Heart.

(We're that annoying couple that doesn't ever go to movies or watch things on HBO / Showtime but waits for the DVDs instead.)

I loved this movie. It's a documentary-style story where they talk to real people about their thoughts on love and relationships, and in the midst of all this, a romance blossoms between the two lead characters, Charlyne Yi and Michael Cera, who play themselves.

It's so cute and quirky, and the entire time I watched it, I just wanted to smoosh Charlyne Yi for being so freaking adorable. My husband wants me to wear black-rimmed glasses now. I'm going to say no to that one. Only because I don't need glasses but check back when I do, thanks.

Book Jackets + Bookmarks = Yes Please

Book jackets and bookmarks in one make for extremely cute books! The little bunny ears poking out of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland is making me a little weak. Want!

The Hardest Button To Button

How cute are these?! I totally forgot about these buttons my husband got me while we were in Northampton. (When we got out of the car he says to me matter of factly, "I would like to get you something today", and this is what I chose lol)

They're from Essentials, a store that tests my resolve every single time I enter. And yet I cannot help but go in everytime I'm in Northampton. I'm a sucker for cute, what can I say?

Buzzy Bumble Bee

I just had to post pictures of my niece from the party we were at last night celebrating Oktoberfest, Halloween and Autumn.

How adorable is she! She kept going "Bzzzzzz!" at people, and it took a lot of restraint not to squish her.

And then she ran away.

My pictures of the night are sorely lacking because I was busy laughing at all the ridiculousness going on. When there's beer, there's crazy. But it was so good to catch up with friends and chat into the wee hours of the night.

I did take pictures of some stuff I brought though... cornbread muffins for the chili.

Chocolate gingerbread cookies requested by the hosts. I also brought a gingerbread bundt cake, but the picture turned out awful. The cake, was yum though :)

Mini Designer Chairs

How cute are these miniature designer chairs?!

Ever since I read Nicole's post (at Making It Lovely) on the ones her husband gifted her for her birthday, I can't stop thinking about them. Want!

Future It Girl

How cute is she!? So chic and still so wee. Adorable!

And umm, I'd like to steal her mum's shoes please. Thanks.

Terrarium Love

I love terrariums. They're so cute and can be made out of anything and be placed anywhere. Perhaps when my outdoor garden is done for the season, I might start one.

Anyway, I found a couple on Flickr that I thought were adorable.

This one makes me think of a hilly English country side.

And this one? Just made me die a little inside because it's beyond precious.

Stamp Love

Saw these on Angry Chicken's blog and thought they were the cutest stamps there ever were! I love cityscapes! And the bicycle? Kills me.

What The...

You look at this lovely sight and think, "Burgers, fries... yeah, so what?". And that's where you're wrong, my friend.

This beautiful sight comes courtesy of Bakerella. What you see is here is made entirely from cupcakes, brownies and cookies. I kid you not. I seriously don't know how she comes up with these things! My mind is still being blown as I write this.

I'm in awe. In complete awe.

Must. Have. Cherry Chomper. NOW.

Is this not the cutest cherry pitter in existence?

Even the instructions are cute. Oh my.

Obviously I don't have a need for this. But look at it! I love collecting cute (read: unnecessary) things, and the Cherry Chomper is right up my alley.

Besides, red + aqua = awesome.

Nature Is Overrated

Don't you love this portable picnic idea? It'd be hilarious to see the reactions of passers-by with this on your lap. A picnic that's perfect for me! I love picnics, but having to sit outdoors for any length of time usually ends with me whining and / or scratching at real or imagined bug bites. Occasionally, flailing takes place too.

Although having said this, it's my aim this summer to make myself a picnic blanket, sit / lay on it in the shady part of my backyard and read a book. If I achieve this, there shall be photographic evidence of this feat. I realise once I have kids, being outdoors is inevitable, so I'm trying to train myself to not dislike it so much. Meh, one can hope.

Anyhow, artist Paige Russell wrote a piece for Design*Sponge on a DIY Green Space Travel Case if you happen to have all of the above just lying around. It's a seriously cute idea and it reminds me of the time I wanted to buy a bunch of turf and stick it on my walls and put daisies in the turf. I'm glad I didn't because yikes.

Things That Make You Go Aww

Earlier this month, my hub's cousin's baby boy finally arrived to greet us. So I felt the need to knit him tiny, little things. They seriously make my womb weep.
Slightly less sweet, I spied one of our toilet paper rolls sporting a little heart in its middle. I thought that was cute. Like I've said before, I'm easily amused. Side note: I'd originally wanted to make these toilet paper holders for sale at the store, but everyone who's seen it kind of looks at me quizzically. And by everyone, I mean my mum-in-law. I think they're cute and having grown up with them in Singapore, they're perfectly normal to me. I might do a couple and see what happens though.

Yup, My Womb Wept

I saw this Microsoft ad on telly a few days ago and I am completely taken by this little girl, Kylie. The first time I saw her, my womb did somersaults and then cried for an hour.

Upon seeing this, the hubs announced that we need to go make babies and have a little girl just like Kylie. Riiiiiiight. Calm down, Buster.
