A friend of mine asked me to make a pink and grey quilt... and I'm in love! It's so sweet and pretty! Can I keep it??? Puh-lease!
I pulled the fabric first... I went with mostly pinks from Bonnie & Camille because even though it's definitely not pastel, it's still not an obnoxious pink. I highly doubt too many people would find this pink too bright. And if they do, I shake my fist at them :) And greys are sometimes annoying to pick since greys come in SO many shades... too blue, too pink, always too something. But this is my tip in the fabric pulling process... don't obsess too much. If it feels right, go for it. It's only fabric.
Oh hi trimmings! This has nothing to do with anything but I love pretty trimmings in the bin :)
Anyhow, I finally landed on Cross Weave by Amy Smart from the book Modern Baby. (A book that I happen to also be in. Ahem. Heehee!) It's such a gorgeous pattern, and I thought it was pretty quick to whip up too.
As usual, I changed the pattern up a little because I can never leave well alone hehe The centre strips are written as 2" finished but I changed them to 1.5", so the block ends up finishing at 5".
I really loved making this quilt and I'm super thrilled with how it turned out. Definitely one I'll be making again!!
By the way, there's pics of the quilt in progress because that's when I started this post and never finished it till now, when the quilt's all done and washed! Doh! Procrastination Station!
