Johnny Appleseed Farm

My favourite thing about the town we live in is the little stand down the street that sells the most beautiful fruit and veggies all summer and autumn. Autumn looks especially lovely when the pumpkins and mums explode all over the place. I have yet to buy one after living here five years though. The whole decorating for seasons and holidays still eludes me!

But I am a fan of buying apples from the stand to make apple cake. Oh so good. (The colour's a bit off because I took the last two pictures at night.)

yay for apple cake! I made some a week (or so) ago. I like mine to be mostly apples with lots of spices.

Mmm. Looks good. Looks like a project for the weekend with my youngest DD who is 9 and likes to bake! I used to make regular white cake and add blueberries to it, in my bundt tin, then add a lemon glaze (lemon juice and confectioners sugar) poke holes in the cake and it dribbles right in there. Great for a coffee party.
Thanks for sharing! (Now can you just come and do the dishes??)

The mums are beautiful and your cake looks yummy!! It's a good thing I don't live close to someplace like that- I'd be buying flowers all the time!:) Thanks for sharing!
