Wedding Quilt WIP

I rarely follow patterns so it was a little tedious referring back and forth between the layout and block instructions. Under the book is the sketch of the Swoon block and the legend I wrote up so I knew how many pieces of each fabric I needed. Because I like controlled chaos.

And I changed out another two blocks because I didn't like how they looked. I'd initially made two wishing well blocks but I stupidly made them 10" instead of 12". Sooooo stupid. This is what happens when you sew tired :/

Sooo many points.

Tada! Quilt top all done! :) Hoping to have it basted and quilted soon.

I got some fabric for the back but now I'm wondering if I ought to make a little random block for the back. Maybe I should piece the Chinese 'shuang xi' symbol that means 'double happiness'... hmmm...

I've said it before but it bears repeating -- I'm so so so happy that I did the Swoon block instead. Very, very pretty :)

VERY pretty. Too bad the wishing well blocks didn't work. That's a very cool block. Awesome choice on the swoon center - looks like it was made for that pattern!

Normally not a fan of traditional quilts and florals, but this is exceptionally pretty!! It just works so well together, the colours and florals prints, and i think your friends are going to be chuffed to bits over it =)
