The power came back on at 5:30 pm, and not a second too soon because my dear friends, I was about to lose the plot. Anyone who knows me knows that if I stop talking a mile a minute, it means I'm a sad little duckie. Or filled with rage. In this case, kind of a mix of both. The beeping started and then I heard the hum of the fridge... and I started whooping and crying tears of joy. Scared the living daylights out of the cats, but who cares! Electricity!!!
Although once I turned on the telly and put the news on, I felt like an utter piece of shit for being so distraught over being without power for 58 hours. People have lost their homes, their belongings and their lives. And what did I lose? The ability to turn on a light, flush the toilet and watch TV. Big friggin' whoop.
Anyway, I did take a few pictures while I was going around the house, prepping for the hurricane.
I really hope everyone was as lucky as we were and didn't have damage to their property or person. I know not everyone has their power back so I truly hope they get it back soon. I really, really do.
