I'm going to teach a class at the shop I work at. So exciting and so scary at the same time. Kind of like wanting to do cartwheels and throw up at the same time.
But it's mostly cartwheels though :)
I poked around and looked for patterns that suited advanced beginners and the Sparkling Cider pattern by All Washed Up seemed absolutely perfect. Plus, truth be told, I'd always loved it and wanted to make one.The pattern calls for 20 fat quarters, and just recently a gorgeous collection called Blue Skies by Sharon Holland strolled into the store. It had exactly 20 different fabrics, so it seemed just perfect.
Hopefully I'll have the quilt done soon... in the meantime I have a couple others to finish and one to show you. Tell the weather to cooperate so I can have some proper sunlight to take pictures!
P/S: This is NOT an April Fool's joke! Just in case you were wondering... hehe :)

Fun! I have that pattern too, but haven't made one yet.
your fabrics are pretty. and i'm sure your class will be lots of fun.
A new quilt shop for me to try - I'm on a quest to visit quilt shops in my many trips to Boston and back (Philly). Looks like this shop will be an easy on / off from 84 - I'll need to check it out next time!
I love that pattern and the fat quarters that you picked. I am looking forward to seeing it come together.
Very cool!!!!!!
So funny, I just marked that quilt last week as one for THE LIST. I was thinking about doing wonky stars.
That's Awesome! (teaching is the best - you'll love it, and you'll be great, too!)
I taught stained glass classes when I worked at a stained glass store. It is actually fun and easy to teach a hands on type of class. You know what you are doing and the students really want to learn.
I occasionally teach at one of the LQS. I enjoyed it a lot but the time I put into the step outs..wow. I still haven't finished a couple of those quilts!
ooough what a neat color palate. Poison green, aqua and chocolate brown! Sounds exciting getting to teach a class! I hope lots sign up and you have tons of fun. Wish we could take a class with you online like a quilt-along - you giving us assignments and all. ;)
Love from Texas! ~bonnie
