We were driving along the other day...
Hubs: "You have pretty big eyes. For an Asian."
Me: "Why do you have to quantify it?!"
And then I realised I said 'quantify' instead of 'qualify' so I sat and grinned at him hoping he wouldn't catch my booboo.
Hubs: "Umm, you mean qualify? Cos, you know, otherwise it'd be like me telling you that you have 19 eyes."
Me: "Did you not see me grinning? I know I said the wrong word!"
Hubs: "I'm too smart not to catch that!"
Me: *Muttering to myself* "Yeah... smart ASS."

Geese On The Brain
I've been teaching the Sparkling Cider quilt, which has flying geese in it, so I've had geese on the brain hehe And after seeing the gorgeous flying geese mini quilt on Purl Bee I just had to start a flying geese quilt.

Celebrating The 4th Our Way
Happy 4th of July to all who celebrate! Looks like a beautiful day outside so I hope everyone's chilling by the pool or at the beach. Me? I'm staying indoors where nature can't get to me.
So anyway, without even trying to be ironic, we decided to go full-on Singaporean this 4th of July weekend.
I couldn't stop laughing because the hubs kept having to mop the sweat off his face while exclaiming, "Woooooo this is so hot!". LOL! But it was one of his favourite dishes when he visited Singapore, and he even finished off my bowl. Although my bowl was spicier than his because I dumped most of that chilli paste in there. HEEHEE! What can I say... I like it HOT!
And last week, my dad Fedex'd a box of bak kwa over from Singapore.
(Please don't send me angry letters. I'm only little and I bruise easily.)
It's insanely good, but there's only eight slices in there so we have to pace ourselves. Dad said he'd send more if I wanted, but I think my waistline doth protest.
There's leftover laksa which we're having for dinner again tonight. I'd better go get a couple gallons of milk and a towel ready for the hubs... hehehe!

Meeting Baby Olivia
Remember the little tangerine and pink quilt I made for baby Olivia? Well she finally arrived (she was a whole week late!) last Wednesday, and we went to see her over the weekend.
It was so great to spend the evening with the family and watch big sister Ava with the Olivia :) I hope they become the best of friends, just like my sisters and I are.

Happy Baby Quilt
Ooh look! I finished a quilt for the shop! I'd had it done a couple of days before the joy of yesterday afternoon, but never got round to photographing it.

Then I shelved it for another day thinking about how to quilt it. I wanted to treat each patchwork square individually instead of going an overall design, so I did this squiggly pattern. I don't know what it's called... if anyone knows, please tell me!

I quilted the outer border in concentric straight lines, and used a white and black stripe (also from Moda Happy) for the binding. I love stripey binding.
It ended up measuring 43" by 52" after washing, and I think it's so pretty and summery :) It's now available in the shop SOLD!
I'd actually finished the quilt top a looooong time ago out of Moda Happy by Me & My Sister, but something about it didn't sit right with me. So I shelved it, and forgot about it. Earlier this week I was attempting to tidy up my shelf (I tried, I failed) and found the top.
I realised what I didn't like about it was the inner border... I'd had a white and pink dot 2" inner border on there. I didn't like the fabric for it, plus I thought it was too wide. So I ripped it all out and replaced it with this hot pink Kona fabric. Me likey.
I used a white with black and pink dot for the back, and added two pink strips down the length of it so it didn't look so blah.
