Ooh look! I finished a quilt for the shop! I'd had it done a couple of days before the
joy of yesterday afternoon, but never got round to photographing it.
I'd actually finished the quilt top a looooong time ago out of Moda Happy by Me & My Sister, but something about it didn't sit right with me. So I shelved it, and forgot about it. Earlier this week I was attempting to tidy up my shelf (I tried, I failed) and found the top.
I realised what I didn't like about it was the inner border... I'd had a white and pink dot 2" inner border on there. I didn't like the fabric for it, plus I thought it was too wide. So I ripped it all out and replaced it with this hot pink Kona fabric. Me likey.

Then I shelved it for another day thinking about how to quilt it. I wanted to treat each patchwork square individually instead of going an overall design, so I did this squiggly pattern. I don't know what it's called... if anyone knows, please tell me!

I like the effect of the quilting on the back especially :)
I used a white with black and pink dot for the back, and added two pink strips down the length of it so it didn't look so blah.

I quilted the outer border in concentric straight lines, and used a white and black stripe (also from Moda Happy) for the binding. I love stripey binding.

It ended up measuring 43" by 52" after washing, and I think it's so pretty and summery :) It's
now available in the shop SOLD!

It is so nice to know that other people actually go in and rip out stuff weeks/months later even though everyone else thinks its fine! You go girl!
Love it, nice and bright and that binding is perfect.
I think the pattern is called "little squiggly design"!! :) Whatever it is, I like it!!
Did you use 2 charm packs? I've got a couple sitting for inspiration...
I enjoy looking at what other's do for free motion, good job.
@becsbags: Yeah I used two charm packs for this one :)
