Long Time No Blog

Whoopsies. I didn't mean to take such a long break from the blog. Every day I'd think, "Okay, tomorrow, you need to write a post"... didn't quite work out that well.

But I have good reason... We bought a new house!!! WOOHOO! We're hopefully moving within the next couple of weeks, and then we can put this house on the market! HEEHEE!

The last week or so has been spent measuring every square inch of the new house, perusing websites, catalogues and stores to figure out our furniture (we decided enough with our newlywed furniture... time for some grown-up stuff), and of course contacting people to redo our kitchen and paint the house. That bit has been the most time-consuming and annoying. Maybe the only thing more annoying is the driving back and forth (it's 45 minutes away)... I'm a city girl so anything outside of 15 minutes is too far. Hahaha!

But it's a necessary evil and I have to keep telling myself that in a few weeks all this will be over, and we'll be in our new home. I'm just a very instant gratification kind of girl, so there's A LOT of telling myself this. Over and over and over again.

I'm so excited for this move because we'll be closer to everything (well, I'll be farther from work at the shop, but I can deal with that once or twice a week!), and it'll more than halve the hub's commute to and from work! The town we live in right now is waaaaay to rural for me and I think where we're moving to is a beautiful compromise.

Anyway, yesterday was the first time in over a week I actually got to spend time in my sewing room. I finished the colourful courthouse steps and I've got a couple more projects to go before we move. Hopefully it won't be that long till I can sit down again because I do need to pack as well! There's only one thing more horrifying than packing... Unpacking!!! Oh the dread.

I'm going to try cull as much as I can and donate to Goodwill so we're not lugging a bunch of clothes I haven't worn in years. Funny thing is that most of the clothes are from Australia and the sizing is completely different... I keep giggling at the thought of someone trying to squeeze into my Australian size 10 (US size 6) and thinking they're now a giant. I probably should let them know when I drop off the clothes, huh? Hehehe!

I dread packing a lot more than unpacking when you only have to unpack what you have in the boxes. Vs. you have to select a lot of stuff you don't want to take with you. So unpacking takes a lot less time. So happy for you, I was gonna ask you when are you guys moving! :) Did you buy it in the area your sister is close to? (WH?)
Good luck to you with the move!
