Back At It

Something clicked in my head, and all I've wanted to do lately is sew, sew, sew. I hadn't done much since I returned from Singapore and Australia, but I had to do a little project for work with a bunch of Kaffe fabric, and that probably kicked it off. Since then I've been back in the studio for hours a day, and I love it :) Feels really good to play with fabric and colour!

This is something I started yesterday. Just simple log cabin blocks made from scraps. The last quilt (which has already sold! Whaaaaat!!!) was made from scraps too, and around here, scraps somehow multiply. It was going to be a giant log cabin quilt, but then somewhere along the way, I decided I hadn't done a log cabin quilt in forever, so tada! I still don't know where I'm going with these, but then again, I rarely do while I'm making blocks.

I think after this I'll have to work on some triangles... My true love hehe

What are you working on these days?

I'm finishing the piecing on a scrappy x and + quilt, and thinking of my next scrappy quilt - good idea here!

Why thanks for asking! I'm working on a simple square patchwork quilt using bright red and hot pink Kaffe Fassett fabrics. I through in a few greens too to add a bit of variety. It's garish and I love it! Trying free motion quilting for the first time too. Eek

Love your quilts.

Oooh! love those..

I am also playing with scraps - even really tiny ones. It's my bee month so I'm excited to see what shows up in the mail. And I'm trying to get an idea for a challenge we're doing which was easy to announce, and difficult to get started on. Grr. I'm hoping to be struck with sudden brilliance.

These look wonderful! I really like the look of the controlled colors, especially the yellows, magentas, and blues together. And like RobotMomSews said, I'll have to make a log cabin quilt soon too!

Can't get enough of these blocks! Delicious. Perhaps the same border fabric as the one in your previous post?

Just love these scr log cabins, maybe I need to spend a time cutting squares and strips from these containers of scraps. These week I finally pieced a couple backs so some things to go off to be quilted...one is my scrappytripalong, hurrah, now I am so anxious to have it back!
