The hub's cousin needed a baby quilt on very short notice and asked if I would be able to make something simple in pink and white. I said yes because I was half asleep and then when I'd had coffee I was all "What the hell did I just agree to?!?!". But I realised I had these Little Sweethearts charm packs just sitting on my cutting table, so I had to figure out what to do with 45-5" squares.
I used 39 of them to make little noughts and crosses like 'xo'... Hence the name, Hugs And Kisses!
I used a white Aurifil 50wt to quilt it in a grid. I used the little quilting guide thing to keep the lines approximately 1.5" apart. I don't know about you, but those things annoy me even if they do work marvellously. I don't know where to look... I look at the guide, I start sewing weird... I look at the needle, I'm no longer going in a straight line. Total user error, for sure, but it makes me slightly grr. And I have anger management issues toward inanimate objects.
So it's ready to rock... cute little tiny quilt :)

well done! you are my new hero. ;)
I think the grid turned out great. Man, I can't quilt in straight lines unless there are seam lines to follow. I stick to quilting styles that are meant to look wonky.
WOW!
So so cute!
You did it! And it's wonderful!
Seriously cute!!
You did a lovely job on such short notice! Kudos for being able to crank that one out. Really pretty!
Good job. You rock! I've never cranked one out that fast .
Super cute!!
I know I should use those guides that come with my walking foot, but I've given up for similar user errors. I just mark the quilts and then I can stare at the needle AND my guide as much as I want ;)
It is so sweet! I love it!
It's just great.
This is adorable, Audrie! Love the colors and that grid pattern- absolutely love it! I'm going to have to try that!
Very cute! Reminds me of tic-tac-toe. If I ever make a quilt in 24 hours it will be a freakin' miracle. ;-)
@Kawaii Quilter - Seriously?? Every time someone makes a quilt are they supposed to dig out the big master book of quilt block Bible and see if theirs resembles someone else's and say it was "inspired by that" although it wasn't? She didn't say she designed it and it's for sale in her shop, copyrighted, whatever. Everything has been done before. I seriously doubt that so and so that you reference was the first, either.
It annoys me that people on the internet say "you copied so and so and passed it off as your own" when the design isn't that unique in the first place. X's and O's, gee, how obscure.
Why don't you make something cool yourself instead of spreading negativity? And if this is what you get your kicks doing, you can visit my blog and comment away!
BTW, I don't even know Audrie, I just don't like bullies.
It is so cute & a lovely job, love the quilting (& the pattern :-) )! Just well done in such a short time, wish I could do that....
That's adorable. I'm impressed and I'm sure it will be well-loved and appreciated. Thanks for sharing!
Happy Easter!
Just too cute!! Great job.
