I was 14 when this album was released and it completely blew my mind. Twenty years on and it continues to blow my mind.
(I'd like to point out that my blog now contains a picture of a weewee. A baby's weewee, yes, but a weewee nonetheless. Also, 'weewee' is really fun to say.)
A deluxe box set of Nevermind will be released in celebration. Now I know what Santa can bring me! :)
Nirvana will forever remain one of my favourite bands of all time. I was distraught when Cobain killed himself in 1994. Now I'm just saddened because I imagine all the amazing music he'd have released into the world. Goodness knows we need that these days. Because have you heard the radio lately? It's beyond depressing.

I recently read that for kids entering college this year, Nirvana has always been played on the oldies station, so sad. They have no idea what they have missed.
I just read about the "murder" theory. Where have I been? I think I'm on board with it though........ too weird...
Amen.
Are you into Pearl Jam? They are still doing great things!
Lovin' the new Foo Fighters cd too.
It's no Nirvana Unplugged though...
Aaaahhhh HAHAHAHA! You said weewee!
I think we all felt a little more 'mature' when holding that album cover... "See, grown-ups? See how sophisticated we are with our naked art and unwashed flannel?" When I think of the icons we lost when just in high school, it makes me a little sad. It also makes me sad to thing it was twenty years ago that I was 13. And that I thought the next step up from NKOTB was Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch...
Bright candles often burn too quickly.
Pearl Jam is also having a big 20th Anniversary too (movie, book).
I gave up on radio. I think that I may have to start listening to "classic rock" stations soon!
Sucks he died. Wonder what the music scene would be like now if he had lived. Less sucky I bet.
I'm totally with you. I loved the grunge bands and the whole punk revival - reminds me of my time in Hungary, watching MTV before it got crappy, enjoying MTV's Most Wanted with crazy Ray Cokes... things sure have changed, not necessarily in a good way (do I sound like my grand ma now ?)
