Birdie Boy Quilt

A friend of mine had seen the Birdie girl quilt I made and wanted one like it for her nephew. She's been toying with the idea of learning to quilt, so I let her pick out most of the fabrics and picked a few from her pile.

I love how it looks quite a bit different from the girl version but still kind of the same.

I sashed in a light blue since there's so many different blues in this quilt that I thought something light and soft would be best.

She wanted me to incorporate some green into it to match her nephew's nursery.

I put some green solid on the top of the backing, and added a small square in a slightly darker green on the bottom.
  I love little squares!

This one ended up measuring about 45" by 60" and will be a gift to the little boy come May.

I'm really wanting to learn after seeing all your wonderful quilts. What is the machine like? Is it a regular one or one of the fancy quilters? Post about, please..............
