New York, I love you, but you make me tired as hell. The hubs and I spent three days in NYC walking and walking and walking, and I'm pooped. I went to the dentist this morning and his assistant said I looked tired and I wasn't quite as chatty as usual. Yes, I'm even chatty at the dentist. Nothing shuts this girl up.
We had a loooooovely weekend there, and I got to meet up with a friend I've never met, Danielle! It was short, but sweet :) I took her to Purl Soho (where else would you take a fellow quilter if you were in the city?!) and we oohed and ahhed at all the pretty there. No pictures though, because my hands were busy touching everything.
- Num Pang! It's so close to Grand Central... quite impossible to resist.
- Brekkie at a diner near our hotel. Eggs Benedict for me, and a turkey omelette for the hubs. And copious amounts of coffee :)
- Daifuku from an Asian supermarket we came across. SO GOOD.
- Duck noodles from a little Thai place in the East Village. Noms.
- Macaroni and cheese. Fried. In a ball. DUDE. I had to give the hubs the rest of mine because I would've eaten the whole ball of gooey goodness.
- Pizza at Arturo's. Coal oven. Nuff' said. (The fried ball is also from Arturo's by the way.)
- Chocolate babka from Russ & Daughters. If I had one last meal, this would be my dessert. It's that good. Well, maybe this and cheesecake.
- We shared a corned beef sandwich and a chilli dog at Katz's Deli. I could eat that all day long.
We did a little walking around on our first night after dinner. We hadn't stayed in Midtown for ages, so it was nice to just walk around and be a little touristy. And then we found ourselves back at Grand Central, so we shared a slice of Junior's cheesecake. We hadn't had it since we were in NYC in 2006 when the hubs proposed to me (Everybody now... Awwwww... hahaha!). If you've never had it and ever get the chance to try a slice, DO IT. It's the stuff dreams are made of.
I have more pictures to come... didn't want to inundate you with them all in one post.

I love these kinds of travelogues.....food and fabric ( I have a great imagination)!
Now I want to go to NYC. Lodging recommendations???
I'm going to NY next week, so you are getting me excited to go. Believe it or not, I'm not that pumped about it... it's a trip for work, and I haven't had a lot of down time at home, so I just want to cozy up on my couch and stitch hexies! But it'll be good to be in NY this time of year :)
