Sewing Crazy

It's been a bit quiet around here, sorry about that. First I was sick with the worst cough and cold I've had in forever. And I think I'm allergic to Sudafed. My eyes kept watering and swelling and itching like mad. The hubs says this means I might never become a meth-head if I'm actually allergic. Ah shucks, there goes that diet plan.

And then I got some shitty news from home about Dad. It's worse than we thought but at the same time, his prognosis seems to be good. I'm sure he's going to be just fine, but when it's your parent, all reasoning goes out the window. So I've kind of been in my own head, worrying and driving myself crazy. And when I worry, I sew. I sew like I'm possessed.

I pieced a second Bella triangle quilt (I have to wash and take pictures of the first!) and decided to try some swirls à la Angela Walters. I think they came out pretty okay... I need more practice but I think they look quite nice. The texture of the quilting is so nice... I keep running my hands over it!

And I started making some stars out of Cuzco. I love this line so much... the colours are brilliant and it's so girly without being too girly. I don't know what this will become yet... maybe a couple of baby quilts? We'll see.

I cut up squares for a four-patch quilt from my DS quilters quarters. My calculations were a little off when it came to the four-patches so I ended up with too few of those. Oops. But I moved blocks around and I think it'll be fine. It's just for us, so I'm not super fussed hehe

Anyway, I'm fine, family's fine, hopefully Dad will be fine. Please just send good thoughts his way, okay? Thank you :)

Sending good thoughts to you and to your dad. Not fun at all.

If there's anything I can do (aside from making lame statements/offers like this one), let me know, 'kay?
