How girlie is this little quilt?
A client asked if I had any Hushabye fabric left, and unfortunately I didn't. So what I did was pull the colours and feel of the fabrics and went from there. I didn't try too hard to recreate it because I knew it would be an impossible task to make the quilt look exactly like Hushabye. So I went with darker browns, damasks and dots so that it didn't look too baby-ish. I realise that there's more contrast with the fabrics I chose, but I kind of like that.
I used a solid light pink thread for the quilting because it seemed to fade into the blocks a little better than a white or off-white. And I did loopy quilting because it's so fun and quick.
I used two shades of pink solids that I had and scraps of blues and green for the little strip in between. The solids always show off the quilting so nicely. And as always, a nice dotty binding :)
All three quilts (churn dash, Nicey Jane and this one) are on their way to live in Toronto :)

This is great, I love the color combos (I think the darks really add to the baby quilt), and beautiful quilting, also.
