I live in the sticks. And these pictures are proof. Be glad there's no smell function on blogs. Because I smelled skunk today. Again. NOT. COOL. AMERICA.
I joke a lot about living down the street from sheep, cows and cornfields, but I do like seeing the rows and rows of mums appear every autumn. This might be the year I get a pot of mums for my front steps. And perhaps a pumpkin.

I live just outside of our little city and we have skunks in the area. We smell them a lot in the summer, I have seen one big one by my back deck and my dog chased one a few summers ago and got sprayed. When I learned that skunks eat mice well, I don't mind them now. If they keep the mice out of my basement, they can wander my yard all they want.
I know what you mean about the skunks - I live in the city and we have a problem with them. My dog got sprayed one early morning a couple of weeks ago... not fun I tell ya! But I do own a small country cottage out by corn fields and dairy farms... spend all my weekends there and I LOVE IT!
THAT is not the sticks. You wanna see the STICKS, come on up to my house. We are an hour and a half from the city (and it's only a city of 50,000)
:)
We won't worry that you're losing your urban cool unless we see cornstalks too!
