I love stroopwafels. The first time I'd had them was when I was working in Singapore years ago, and a friend had brought some home from Amsterdam.
They sound so simple -- two thin waffles with a caramel-like syrup in the middle -- but they're just delicious. I found these at Trader Joe's, and they're so good!
Oh my God, I love them too! We lived in Hollan when I was little and loved to eat them warm from street vendors. When I found some at Trader Joes a couple years ago I just about died. Since then I've eaten my weight in them so I may be over them a bit...although looking at your picture of them, perhaps I'm not.
I have never had those...but put a caramel syrup on any thing and I'm there! We recently got a Trader Joes in the lively metropolis of Omaha,NE, but I have not been yet. I think I may have found a reason...
Have you tried them over a steaming cup of tea? You put them on the cup over the tea and it makes them all warm. I haven't tried that with the Trader Joes ones but it made another brand all melty in the middle. Maybe not a summer treat but soooo yummy when it's cold out.
Oh, yes. When I worked in Amsterdam a few (ok, 15) years ago, I was introduced to those babies. Thanks for reminding me they are at TJ's. I'm going right out to get some, then will brew a nice pot of coffee and sit one on top of my piping hot!

World Market also has some good ones. They have two sizes: big for the top of a coffee cup and then little snack size versions. Check them out.
They are definitely good! You can get them at any grocery shop here in the Netherlands. Yummy!!!
