I love this quilt so much. The Max & Whiskers collection by Basic Grey is insanely cute, and I couldn't not make something with it.
I love making wonky log cabin blocks, and I thought the prints lent themselves to that style perfectly. I added white, black and grey solids on the front because I didn't want the blocks to get too busy or messy with all the prints jammed in.
I quilted it in a wonky grid pattern to play up the wonkiness of the blocks. I alternated between light grey and variegated grey thread to add a little bit more interest.
The back... Oh how I love the back!
I don't normally do a lot with yellow, but I have a soft spot for mustard. (
It's technically not mustard, but close enough.) I think the yellow complements the front so nicely, and adding the strip with the few prints from the front just made this one of my favourite backs of all time :)
The quilt measures 40" by 43" and is currently available in the
store :)

Absolutely gorgeous! I love wonky blocks too and that back is fabulous!
I get so few reminders that I like yellow. But that quilt back will have me singing its praises for a long while... Love it!
Looks great! I love it! I bought a fat quarter bundle of Max and Whiskers, so I need to get busy! Have you seen the "grunge" fabric in the collection? I love it.....
Amazing!
Wow, that is wonderful. The colors are perfect and I love the way you quilted it.
Very nice! I love that teal/brown color combo - one of my favorites.
Your quilting looks great! I don't think I could do anything other than perfect squares and lines marked out ahead of time. They would all either merge into one or diverge to infinity by the other end of the quilt!
This is so cute, love the wonky blocks. I need to get some of this Max and Whiskers line.
Ooh so pretty...love the yellow!
