*** Danielle, if you're reading this, HIT THE LITTLE X ON THE CORNER NOW. Thank you, hope you're doing well. ***

Friends of ours are expecting a baby boy in July and of course I wanted to make them a baby quilt. They had no colour scheme ("Oh whatever you think looks good is fine!") so I had free reign with colour and print.
Which can also prove difficult because you have absolutely no idea where to begin! So I figured I'd keep it simple and use solids on the top, and a print on the back.

I'd
used this pattern eons ago and I thought it was about time to use it again. I really recommend it for anyone who needs to make a quilt very quickly because it's super easy, and you really only need four different colours / prints.

I decided to just stitch in the ditch because I didn't want to fuss with the pattern.
Soooo squishy :)

I found this great print for the backing at Joann's (
of all places!) and it seemed to suit the quilt quite nicely. Plus the parents-to-be were brought together by the love of books and the dictionary. The text print just seemed to make sense :)

I missed the baby shower because I was working that day, so I'm looking forward to presenting them with the quilt over dinner very soon!

What a great quilt! I love the colors you chose and that the print on the back has such meaning!
I've loved this pattern since you first posted it - I'm thinking this might need to be my next 'me' quilt.
Ooo. Love a good looking baby boy quilt. This one is great - and that back totally makes it.
What a fun, happy quilt! Great for any little boy!!!
Love it! I'm not brave enough yet to quilt with solids-- all the little unevenly matched corners would be so evident-- but I love the idea. How fun.
I love this! Great backing print! Sweet and easy too...well until I get to matching up those corners which look fabulous on yours!
