Pretty Pretty Patchwork

Hello! Look at my patchwork quilt! Can you tell I'm excited?!

I finished it on Friday night, washed it after work on Saturday, and we slept under it last night :)

So pretty!

There are sooooo many different fabrics in this quilt, and sooooo many squares. And yet it came together pretty quickly.

I quilted it in a grid pattern with a variegated thread that had pink, yellow, blue and green through it.

We looked at it in the morning light, trying to decide which was our favourite square... I love any of the check fabrics, and the hubs loves the birdcage one.

The back is a solid aqua, and I used an alphabet print for the binding. I wanted to use it in the quilt itself, then decided it would make a better binding.

I know every new quilt I make for our bed becomes my new favourite, but this one... ahhh I love it so much :)

In other news... my sisters are on their way from JFK! And me? I'm about to wet myself with excitement. I apologise for the imagery.

It turned out great. I can't believe how quickly you cranked that out. Now quick! Get off the quilt! Don't want to tinkle on your new cozy.

So Fun! I'm so excited for you and your sisters' visit. (I just have a brother, but I can imagine it's so fun to have sisters!)

And what a cozy looking quilt. There's something so comforting and lovely about patchwork.

What a pretty quilt! I've only recently discovered the joys of patchwork and quilting and have become quite addicted. LOL!

Have a wonderful time with your sisters!!! (Hmmm, maybe I should give my own sister a call. She lives just 5 mins away and we hardly see each other)

I love this quilt- it has a very "something my mama would have made" vintage vibe to it. I love how scrappy it is. Have fun with the seesturs.

I love your quilt! reminds me of ones my mother in law made for my babies. I miss reading your blog. I haven't had time to sew so I started avoiding all my favorite sewing blogs I follow. I'm sorta jealous. But I'll get over it. And read more often. I promise!
