Feathers And Sarcasm

I know I've been slacking on the quilty content around here... I've suddenly found myself a little busier than normal so I've spent little time in my studio. But here's what I've been working on whenever I'm in there...

A friend of mine asked if I'd make her a bedskirt because she couldn't for the life of her find one she actually liked. We played around with different ideas and she finally decided she liked my sketch of feathers in a circle with a grid pattern 'behind' it.

It's nowhere near finished (obviously) but you can see the grid inside of the circle. I've done the feathers on all three panels (didn't want to change my foot back and forth) then started the grid on this one. I'm pretty excited about this... it's turning out quite well if I do say so myself :)

(The picture shows the reverse of the panel because the front's got markings and you can't see the quilting too well.)

And yesterday I came home from work to find the hubs had written "I cleaned" on the whiteboard. Oh whoopdeedoo. So I drew him a little award, and it looks like my sarcasm was conveyed.

Your feathers look great! Have you done them before? They look so smooth. The grid adds a lot - cool design idea. And how do you start and end a quilt segment when it's not at the edge in the binding? I keep looking for a nice looking and non-unravely method.

Love the award :)

AHAHAHA! I love the award. Seriously...I laughed until I cried. That would NOT go over well in my house, but I think it's fabulous. :)

And the quilting is absolutely gorgeous!

Thats really nice work on the bed skirt. It may be sarcasm to the Hubs but I know you meant well. Maybe you need to purchase little gold star stickers and every time he does something good you get to put a sticker on his shirt. Very much like grade school.
