I have a great big floppy summer hat. Until yesterday. Yesterday my husband decided to be funny and rip it. See, the top had come a bit undone, but all it needed was a little bit of mending and it'd be alright.
The hubs thought it was beyond repair and figured it'd be hilarious to try to remove the top bit of the hat (he didn't realise it's basically one loooooooooong string that's been fashioned into a hat so there's no amount of ripping that'd take it apart). I did not think it was so funny because now I need to look for a new hat.
I need a hat because I detest the sun more than anything. A fairly wide brim is essential because if the sun touches my skin, I go a lovely shade of red. Pretty.
Opinions? Or suggestions for other hats that don't cost $34?

I love that hat! I saw it the other day and thought it was lovely.
good luck.
I like the darker one. Do you have DSW near you? They might sell hats like this...or even Target
The darker one.
lighter one will wash you out, go for the darker!
p.s/ Steve should so totally be banned from doing any type of DIY work whatsoever!!
the light one... easy to wash and won't fade when you wash it...
I have seen some lovely floppy sun hats at tj maxx/ marshalls, target and a bunch of different shoes stores also have a couple by their purses, good luck! I too have to find a new one this year
I know I'm a bit late (I've just discovered your blog), but one of my students' mother designs and makes comparable hats in Africa (I live in France). If you want, I can ask her the addresses of her retailers worldwide. And I know that wholesale prices are between 10 & 20 euros, so, retailers' prices might meet your needs.
D'ont hesitate to contact me if I can be of some help.
