33

I've had a spectacular birthday. I had lots of fun spending the weekend with my husband, doing nothing too special, just getting in the car and seeing where we end up.

When I woke up this morning, I declared I would like a sausage and egg mcmuffin. He walked out of the bedroom and I heard the garage door slam. I didn't think he'd actually do it, given his disdain for the franchise. Ten minutes later he comes home with yummy goodness. Or badness. Whatever, it's my birthday. Calories don't exist today.

This is what he got me. Okay, so I chose it. He was about two seconds away from a meltdown so I told him to get this. He was very appreciative.

I'd wondered about this book and I'm not one to buy Martha Stewart books but I'd read a review on a blog (I forget which one now...) that it wasn't half bad. I checked it out and thought it had some basics that were pretty useful. We shall see!

I had to use my birthday pressies, so here's the necklace my sis gave me. You may now stop asking if I've worn it, Aurelia.

We spent most of the day in Simsbury where there's an awesome quilt shop called Sew Inspired. It took a lot of strength but I behaved myself and didn't buy too much. Shocking, I know. The hubs killed time by reading a magazine outside the shop, where he spotted water pouring out of a light fixture. Yikes. He came in to tell the owners, and a crisis was averted. He's so handy to have around.

We found this little bagel shop and deli that had amazing food. Plus it was fun to watch him inhale a dutch apple bagel slathered in cream cheese. Doesn't he look so serious? He was hungry and waiting for his food, so I can't blame him hehe

My other birthday pressie from dad and my other sister Averil got its own seat at lunch. It has such great posture.

Oooh! Speaking of my dad, he called this afternoon!!! He was in my sister's room bugging her and decided to get me in on the action hehe I was at a bookstore and I'm pretty sure everyone heard our ridiculous conversation. The hubs was pretty upset that he'd wandered off and didn't get to talk to my dad. Aww. (It makes me smile that my hubs and dad have mad love for each other.)

On the way home we went to go to Whole Foods and the hubs decided to buy stinky cheese. I don't mind some cheeses like brie or camembert etc, but when something smells like a diseased foot, I say no thank you. Even the check-out chick almost fell over. Now my car smells like I've been carting around a rotting corpse and he keeps offering me the stuff like I'll suddenly change my mind. I'd rather lick my shoe.

So despite smelly cheeses, I had a great time turning 33. I still look like a child, so that's cool :)

What was Dad bugging you about? Lack of grandchildren? Whether you received your pressie? Where's his grandchild already?

Happy birthday, Audrie. I hope you post a book review on Martha's book. I bought the latest issue of Martha Stewart Living today because of the cover. I hardly EVER buy that magazine. But the cover was gorgeous. I even wrote a post about it. Anyway....happy birthday. Cool that you still look like a child...

Steve ate a bagel?! I thought he was morally and calorie-fically (i insist that's a word) opposed to bagels!!

Our male parental unit is so annoying, but he was in a good mood because Chelsea lost it's most recent BPL game and both McLaren drivers took the 1-2 podium finish. Luckily he realised i was in the midst of work and didn't stay to "regale" me with 50 jokes/stories each about 5 hours long... (0____0)

Glad you had a nice day, as nice as it could get without some sugar from your favourite middle sister (^__^)

Awww, it looks like you had a wonderful birthday Audrie! I could definitely use a day like that soon, but my birthday isn't until October :(

Stop by the blog (wink, wink, nudge, nudge), I'm hosting two giveaways to celebrate my 100th post and thought you might like to enter.
