I wish I was back in Australia... I miss watching fireworks over the Swan River from my place or my sister's balcony. Don't miss the bazillion people converging on the banks of the river (which was essentially my backyard) though.
Happy Australia Day! Aussie! Aussie! Aussie!

That's one of the places I really want to get to someday. Except for the large number of bad things that can bite and sting you - that kind of freaks me out :) I would just stay out of the bush!
Happy Australia Day! I was in Sydney celebrating 9 years ago today :)
what a cool photo!
Oi Oi Oi. I too am an Aussie in the U.S. and I miss Australia on days like today. Love your blog. I also knit, sew, quilt, bake and watch waaaaay to much t.v. My quilting journey began just a couple of months ago, thanks for the inspiration and ideas. Have a great Australia day. Find some Cherry ripes, bake cheese and vegemite scrolls, and whip up a pav for dessert : )
Oy! Oy! Oy!
(I'm not Australian but I've heard that that is the only proper way to answer Aussie Aussie Aussie....)
Happy Australia Day from one of the more northerly of the former British colonies....!!
Hey Che, this year they had a crackdown on boozing at the event so it was filled to only one tenth the usual people 'cos of all the roaming police. Most people went to party at someone's apartment and only walked down to the foreshore just before the fireworks. Super quiet.
Hey Audrie!,
I'm from Melbourne and Yes, Nothing beats Australia Day!!! Awesome weather and a great BBQ. What could be better?

Hi Audrie,
My name is Elaine and I am a newbie blogger. Your site caught my eye when it said paper piecing is fun. I agree. I have taken 4 classes with Carol Doake, and produced a great quilt and serveral wall hanging. I would love to hear from you. I am also from CT.
