Our Authentic queen-sized quilt is coming along nicely, even though I believe I've popped a few veins in my arms hefting this beast around.
I'd intended to do something more elaborate with the fabric but when I received the layer cakes, I decided I didn't want to cut them up any smaller. I love all the prints, and I wanted to make a simple quilt top so I could see them all easily.
Here it is this afternoon on the studio floor. I decided to hand quilt this one, and I wasn't quite sure how much I'd finished (I'm only 5ft and this thing is about 94" square... and sat in a crumpled heap on top of me lol) so I had to lay it out. Good as any time to take a progress picture :) 
Oh I do love the dots...
The dictionary style print is possibly my favourite. My husband has a love affair with the OED (Oxford English Dictionary) so I love that we have this fabric our quilt. 
I finished hand quilting around each block and then decided to do circles in the middle of each block. A Pyrex bowl served as the perfect circle... it even has circles on the bottom so you can centre it easily! Brilliant. 
Here's a finished circle. I quite like how it's turned out. It just needs to have binding slapped on then it's ready to go for a swim in the washer and live on our bed :) I can't wait!

Hi there! I love that quilt. I am so in love with that fabric. I have been thinking of buying some layer cakes from the Authentic line myself. How many layer cakes did you need to make a quilt top that big? It looks FANTASTIC!! Good job to you as well, for doing the hand quilting!!

Heather: I used about 64 pieces for the quilt -- one Authentic LC has 42 cuts, so I used 22 from a second LC.
nice way to go... they are a bit too beautiful to cut!!
