New Workspace

Well, this is what the new sewing room looks like thus far. There's still a ways to go (I've cleverly stuffed a lot of things in the closet so I can deal with them later and not have to look at them in the meantime) with rearranging and organising, but it's finally less of a war zone :)And now it just looks like it needs to get good and messed up with fabric, no?

I love the amount of light that comes into the room. I had the walls painted a bright white, and all the furniture except for the cutting table is white too. That little nook is perfect for my desk, so yay!

And I figured I'd take pictures at this point because it's never going to be this tidy ever again. Once I start, it's going to be a spectacular, chaotic mess. Especially that cutting table. Normally, I'm lucky if I can see the entire cutting mat. And now that I have a door on my sewing room, I don't have to tidy up every time I'm done for the day or when we have guests. Whee! Tiny victories!

My design wall is hung but I'd like to put up a bigger one now that I have so much more wall space. And perhaps one that's not cut so crooked... Seriously, it looks like I had my eyes shut when I cut it. Ah well, it still works, so who cares!

So all that's left now, is to sew. Domo agrees :)

Some of my favorite things about this space: the windows! I love natural light. The iMac. The patchwork quilt hung over the chair. The cute things on top of the shelf. The dinosaurs on top of your monitor. All the fabric! That's quite the stash and many years of fabric love right there. Wow!! Nice photos, and so nice to see your space!

I am more than slightly envious of your gorgeous sewing space. I'm sure it will soon be nice and messy and lots of lovely things will be produced there. Just out of interest, do you consider yourself a full time quilter?

Here's a link I found to a great tutorial for a design wall.

Best part, you can take it down and transport it to classes and retreats with you at very little cost. (just buy extra sticking strips).
Your quilting space is awesome, what size is the room?
I am envious of the size of your stash!! Congrats on settling in so soon!!

Love love love!! It's so pretty! Such an inspiring place to sew! And my cutting mat is always buried too! I think that's a good thing! ;)
So excited for you and your new space!

Love your Room. Do you have 2 windows in it?? I sew in the basement with a lovely huge space but no windows. Love your stash. Can't wait to see what you will make with it all! :-)

Holy smokes! I think when I scrolled down, I heard angels singing! Do you hear them every time you stand in the doorway?
