Scrappy Zippy Pouch

I made myself a little zippy pouch because... well, why the hell not. I had all these little scraps from making the Hope Valley baby quilt from a couple of years ago, and I found them again while digging in my for something else. Which I did not find. Organisational skills FAIL. And the border fabric (Alexander Henry Heath) is also from an old project.

Truth be told, I made the little 1.5" half square triangles and couldn't be bothered to square them up because they were just for this silly little pouch so what do I care if the points don't come within a mile of meeting? But if anyone asks, I was going for charming and whimsical. Got it?

And while I'm being truthful, I'm really crap at sewing anything with zippers so don't judge, okay? Thanks. I sew zippers on like I eat my veggies -- Get it over and done with quickly so it hurts less.

I really made this pouch because I have meds, hand lotion and lip balm in my bag that I always have to search for. And when the hubs is sent to look for my meds, there's usually tears and lots of swearing. Now he'll just have to look for the giant zippy pouch :)

(I realise I'm a walking Nivea advert. I just like their everything. It was a sad day when they discontinued the night cream I'd grown to love and cherish. They almost made up for it by bringing in my lip balm so I didn't have to order from Canada anymore. Almost.)

Adorable pouch!

It's funny, I'm in Canada & I get my lip balm from the States! I LOVE Chapstick's lip butter...in Canada we just have a crappy 'natural' one & it's not as good. Last time my friend went to the States she couldn't find the lip butter either....so I have no back up supply. No one else understands why I want a specific balm that isn't sold in my country. I knew I couldn't be the only one! ha!

When they're that small, don't fret about the points. I spent most of last weekend on teeny tiny patchwork.

Yours is absolutely lovely.

What you should be importing from Canada is ketchup chips and CoffeeCrisp bars. :-)

I love the little pouch! I really need to make one (or five) for myself... Also, I will never judge your points...I have an entire quilt of charming and whimsical half square triangles but I figure if we're letting you stay in our guest room, you're not allowed to judge any of the amenities!!

Love it! I also have a bunch of stuff like that rolling around the bottom of my bag. Hmmm maybe I will make one too. Except that I also detest zippers...
