DS Patchwork Baby Quilt

I finished this quilt just before we moved, but I had to tear down everything to pack, so the poor little thing had to wait till I got settled into the new house.

It's a patchwork quilt I made out of squares cut from the DS fabrics I've been completely smitten with lately. The colours are just so cheerful and happy, you can't help but smile!

The squares were 3.5" finished and I used a natural 50wt Aurifil thread to quilt in a grid pattern down the middle of the squares.

The backing is Kona Steel (or maybe Iron... I don't know!) and the binding is Kona Jade Green (I think? I suck, I know that much...). It ended up measuring about 41" by 49" and is currently listed in the shop SOLD.

  2. It is beautiful. I love the DS at Joann's. I just used my 60 percent off coupon there yesterday to buy some more.

  4. I love how these fabrics work together--the quilt is scrappy but doesn't feel too busy. How do you place your squares? Random or do you plan? I love the binding color--perfect choice!
