My entry for the Fall 2011 Bloggers' Quilt Festival is the wedding quilt I made for our friends Celeste and Steve.
This quilt was possibly the most traditional quilt I've ever made and one of the rare times I've followed a pattern. But of course I swopped out a few blocks and made it just a little differently.
The centre block is Swoon, by Camille. I think it fit the quilt so perfectly :)
I had no clue how to quilt this, so I put it off for the longest time. But I thought that stippling in the 'negative' spaces might be the best solution. And it didn't even take as long as I thought it would!
We finally gifted the quilt a week ago and they were just thrilled :) They're getting new furniture so they want us to visit when they have everything in place so we can see the quilt in its new home. Can't wait :)
A big thanks to Amy for hosting the festival once again! Go visit Amy and have a peep at all the beautiful quilts on display :)
This is so lovely. I'm not a traditional quilter either but I really like that quilt. Your points match so perfectly in the photos I'm very impressed with your skills!
