(It was either Quack Quack or Ducks For Cover. I went the less corny route. You're welcome.)

I finished the Duckie quilt late last night! And I managed to watch all my recorded eps of
Chuck while putting on the binding! Yay!
(That show has gotten more and more ridiculous but I do love me some Zachary Levi. I like dorky, tall men, what can I say? And yes, the hubs knows he's dorky and tall.)

I basically made the mod sampler pattern by Elizabeth (of
Oh Fransson!) but with a jumbled layout and no borders or sashing. And I did more 16-patches because I looove 16-patches.

I stitched in the ditch because I wanted to keep the look of each block. I think stitching in the ditch doesn't get a lot of love because people reckon it's a cop-out, but I think not. Just my two cents :)

Quack.

I was going to use the orange in the quilt itself, but thought it'd make a much better binding. It was the only orange I found that went nicely with the duckies, and I didn't want big splotches of orange everywhere. I'm glad I did that though because the orange frames the quilt quite nicely.
This one's going to live in Australia :) Seems like a lot of my baby quilts are going there lately... must be something in the water hehe
To actually stitch IN the ditch is rather difficult - that's more why I tend to avoid it, not that it's a cop out!
ReplyDeleteLove the orange binding-perfect!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the stitch in the ditch look -- I just HATE to DO it, so I don't. Your quilt is LOVELY, and I agree, the orange is the perfect binding.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea - I love the quilt! I have lots of baby quilts to make - I will keep this pattern in mind!
ReplyDeleteSo cute! Hmmm, I'm going to go check out the pattern. Love the orange binding!
ReplyDeleteI like Ducks for cover! And I love the quilt. And the scrap one below it. So fun!
ReplyDeleteI so would have picked Ducks for Cover, too perfect. Love the orange, it really sets off the whole quilt.
