Really Want To Keep This...

If I burst into tears when I deliver this, would it automatically buy me a one-way ticket to a padded cell?

I finished the binding last night and was this close to dragging it to bed with me. I can't say how much I adore this quilt... the colours and prints just work so well together in that layout.

I love the dots the most because that's just how I'm wired :)

The hand quilting was absolutely mind-numbingly endless, but it always is worth it in the end. The quilt's sooo soft and squishy.

For the binding, I used Kona eggplant because it was just a tad darker than the purple I'd used in the quilt and thought it'd frame the quilt nicely.

The client's daughter didn't want a plain ol' boring backing, so instead of using a flat sheet like I normally do for large quilts, I found this purple floral fabric that I love love love.

The little green bees scattered between the flowers are just too cute.

I'll really be sad to see this one go... but it's going to live in Austria and that's pretty exciting :)

  9. Going to Austria, stitched in America, at the hands of an Aussie.

If you'd bought the fabric in Argentina.... :-)

    It turned out beautiful, Audrie.

  12. Beautiful, understated quilt - love that you hand quilted it. It's hard to let them go - but just means you can move onto another project, and buy more fabric - lisa@athreadfromtheedge.com
