Patrina had wanted this quilt for a while but she didn't want to ask me because she thought I would be all FRIENDSHIP OVER. But she underestimated my level of crazy. Not only did I say yes, I also suggested we do 25 blocks instead of the 20 blocks Denyse had written for the king size pattern because 25 seemed like
I thought it'd take forever to make. I kept telling her that it'd be a long time before I get this shipped off to her. Well, forever turned out to be a few weeks. Teehee! I pieced this sucker in record time. I think it had to do with being able to fondle my favourite fabric collection of all time, Chicopee. The colours are just magnificent, and because of that, we used a very light background, Bella Porcelain, so that we didn't fuss with it.
As you can see, I also made Patrina a pillow. Masochist. That's what I am. I'd sent the quilt off for quilting, and I had a few scraps left over, so I thought why the hell not. I hand quilted it too, just echoing the rings.
Patrina decided she wanted the baptist fan pattern, which I always love. I think it's such a lovely complement to the rings. Just look at all those curves and gorgeous pops of colour. Sigh :)
The binding is Bella Porcelain, same as the background, because we didn't want it to stand out... the rings needed to do all the talking on the front.
Look at Patrina, laying under a quilt I made her, reading a quilt pattern that I designed. Now THAT'S a friend hahaha!
Damn dog is so freaking cute, I want to bite her.
Patrina, I'm beyond ecstatic that we collaborated on this quilt. Your excitement and utter thrill over this quilt is why I do what I do. And I'm just grateful I get to call you my friend :)
Now the both of us have to go punch things because that's just too bloody mushy. Ahem.
All photographs were taken by Patrina. Because she's an amazing photographer and this quilt deserved to have beautiful photos taken of it.
Quilting was done by Laura McCarrick.

Fabulous quilt!
Audrie, you do beautiful work! I love that quilt and I think I actually have the book that pattern is in. If I were a rich girl I'd have you make me one of those in California King :)
Great job!
I love following your blog and seeing all your unique quilts!

Audrie,
OMG your Single Girl Quilt is amazing!!!! Chicopee is my favorite DS fabric as well (with Hope Valley coming in a very close second). May I ask who did the quilting for you??
Dianne
PS: Coral is the perfect backing!!!
This is beautiful, such an amazing version of this quilt and such perfect photos too.
I can't think of a better pairing of fabric and pattern! Just perfection!
It's just gorgeous. I've started that pattern many times but I don't understand the directions! Maybe someday.
This is amazing. I love the single girl quilt pattern and it is on my list of must make quilts. Yours is so beautiful I had to go make a cup of tea to enjoy while starring at the photos in your post. I have been flipping back and forth as to using white for the background or another color or even low volume scrappy. Yours really makes the circles pop. Thank you so much for the inspiration. You are awesome.
absolutely gorgeous! you are very brave! i have been wanting to make a single girl and am totally intimidated. please share your fast piecing tips!
wonderful, beautiful quilt - she must be an awesome friend! and the photos are great, too. creative minds stick together! :-)
The quilt is wonderful. You're a great friend! When I stitch anything this large I call it fabric wrangling.
Wow. Dead gorgeous, just perfect. I love Chicopee too, I think it might be tied with Hope Valley for my all time fav. Lovely quilt, thanks for sharing the amazing photos.
Chicopee is the one fabric line I've seen that I wanted to make a quilt soley out of, and almost took the plunge a couple of times. That quilt looks fantastic, and that coral is damn gorgeous with it.
Seriously awesome!!!!!! Another fine creation. :)
Perfect pairing of fabric, pattern and background colour! Patrina's photos are beautiful! I love that she is reading your pattern while under your quilt, what a lovely way to say thank you!
Mmm. I love Chicopee too. What an amazing quilt and a great friend you are (and have). Beautiful photos, Patrina.
This fantastically beautiful, ginormous quilt pieced in a few weeks??! And a pillow too? You're my hero!
Just amazing Audrie. its so perfect in every way, piecing, fabric, quilting...and I can tell how much of you went into it as well. The pillow tells us that!!
It looks great! This quilt is still on my bucket list but I don't know when....
Whew! 25 blocks! That's amazing, and the quilt is beautiful. What a treasure. xxx
It is an amazing, beautiful quilt, I love it. The fan pattern was a great choice for this quilt.
Amazing, just amazing. Sigh.
It is beautiful and you are the best kind of quilty insane :)
Beautiful quilt, great blog post and the bits on friendship and collaboration was a joy to read. Made my day thanks!!
Wow! It's an amazing quilt and the photos are indeed gorgeous. It's all fantastic but of course you probably are a bit crazy too.

Speechless over here. Simply glorious! I want one
You're so honest - that is refreshing. A pretty good friend too! Damn good one. Beyond good. Exceptional one - yeah that's it.
Absolutely beautiful. And I LOVE the coral for the back.
OK I know I'm not looking at the right thing, but HER RING, I covet HER WEDDING RING. Her quilt, yes, and I love yours too because I love the gray background the best, meticulous like all of your quilts. But, I guess I got off task.....
OH, I know this post is a few weeks old, but I just found it. This quilt is amazing. The photos are amazing. Yep, the dog is amazing, too. I can't think of constructive things to say other than to gush... So that's all.
I keep popping back to look at this beautiful quilt again and again. It is just stunning, a true heirloom quilt. Your friend is surely a stylist and photographer, right? Such professional photos - they're lovely. Audrie, you are a huge talent and an inspiration - I also adore your scrappy log cabin and quartered log cabin baby quilts. When I grow up I want to make quilts like yours. (Grow up in quilting years, I mean...) sincerely, Kate from Melbourne (PS I read an old post you wrote about Country Road. Check out their throws at the mo - lots of quilt-inspired designs but not as good as the real thing.)
